What’s biting? Striped bass are making a strong showing around the Rockaways, Coney Island, and off the coast of Staten Island. Fluke season is heating up, especially in the lower Harbor and around Sandy Hook. Bottom fishing with squid or fresh clam will put you in the zone for these tasty flatfish. Got a few today but it was tough. Bunker guys are saying it’s been really bad with the bunker. I haven’t seen any giant schools. Just small and scattered. Feels like a much slower start than last year and smaller bass.
